Emma's Birthday and Other Events

Today is Emma's 5th Birthday! We are celebrating it in Siloam Springs, Arkansas! Jenny made wonderful pizza and Jenny's mom and dad came over to celebrate. We are in the midst of our landlord overhauling our bathroom (picture of Nathan helping) and we are also trying to figure out what to do about our house in Kandern, Germany. We found out last week that the house that we have been renting for one year is now for sale. We are so disappointed! We know that the Lord will lead us to a new place...but we are grieving the loss of that wonderful home! Nathan is in the midst of basketball season and learning lots!

First Soccer Game

This weekend we just played our first soccer game of the season. It was a scrimmage game with Vienna Christian. They left Vienna, Austria at 3:30 a.m., arrived at 12:15 p.m. and we started the game at 1:15 p.m. Tough turnaround time for them but they were ready as they scored first and were up 1-0 at halftime. After the halftime we came back out fighting, but they scored again with about 20 minutes left in the game giving them a convincing 2-0 lead. We did not let down though and continued fighting and scored three goals in those last twenty minutes for the win! I am so impressed with their determination to keep fighting no matter the score. Vienna then joined us for two open dorms and then slept on our gym floor. This morning they attended church with us, and then headed back to Austria. It was a good weekend!

Next week we head to Belgium and Holland for a couple of tough games. The guys are excited for those times.
